Our Residential Investigations take approximately two hours to complete. We encourage our clients to walk through the house with the investigator and take notes. You will have all the answers to your questions and concerns by the end of the investigation. If samples are taken, the results will be sent to you as soon as the results are received from the laboratory.

• We will investigate musty odours
• We will address Combustible Appliance Back Drafting
• We will conduct a mechanical system inspection
• We address both chemical and biological contaminants
• We will test for airborne particulates such as dust mites and animal dander
• We will check relative humidity in every room
• We will inspect the HVAC system
• We use a CO meter to check for Carbon Monoxide spillage from combustible appliances
• We will inspect for any physical evidence of moisture penetration using digital moisture meters
• We investigate the possibility of off-gassing, VOC’s (volatile organic compounds) and formaldehyde
• We will do a complete visible mold inspection of the basement, attic and exterior
• We will trace any water penetration
• We will check sump pump operation, level and drainage
• We will determine the effectiveness of your existing ventilation system and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades if required, as per CSA-F326 or OBC 1993
• We will recommend solutions for chemical use storage e.g. Solvents, paints, cleaners, soaps etc.
• If there are any items that require immediate attention, the investigator will indicate these at time of investigation

The cost for Air Quality Testing is $400.00 for a minimum of two hours.  $200.00 for every additional hour.  Travel locations outside Ottawa are subject to additional costs.  If a written report is required, the cost is $200.00 per hour.  Samples are $125.00 to $150.00 each.  All prices are subject to GST.
